Parc 55 – San Francisco

Last week I stayed in San Francisco to attend VMWorld 2009.  What is VMWorld?  A computer conference.  That doesn’t have much to do with this so keep reading.  So I had to find a hotel room for the week.  A co-worker of mine discovered that if I stay in the Hilton all but one day its only $99 a night.  If I stay Wednesday night all the nights then go up to $249 a night.  This made no sense to me so I called the Hilton asking why they did that.  They couldn’t give me a good answer so I decided I will just book all but one night then make a seperate reservation for my last night.  Save a little money for my employer.  Then I started looking around and I realized that for $249 a night I could switch hotels and get a change of scenery.  So I booked a standard room at the newly renovated Parc 55 hotel.  This hotel was right across the street I couldn’t have asked more a more convenient switch.  So I went to check into the Parc 55 and I was told my room was not ready so I asked if I could have another room.  The lady behind the counter said, “Trust me you want to wait, go shopping and come back in two hours.”  She said I was on the 32nd floor.  I came back a few hours later and a different lady behind the counter commented on the room.  I was excited to see what all the commotion was about.  So 3207.  I head to the elevator and turns out there are only 32 floors in this hotel.  Wow top floor.  So I get into my room and it was the biggest hotel room I have every been in.  Three rooms, 2 40inch LCD TV’s, 3 panoramic windows.  It even had a hallway.  Even better than the room is the view.  See the photo gallery for more pictures.

Lake Clementine

img_4241This weekend we visited Lake Clementine outside of Auburn to test out the kayaks with the Hancock Family and Grandma and Grandpa Halstead.  The weather was perfect the water was crystal clear and we all had a great time.  Even Kaitlyn took a little ride out on the lake.  Lucas went out with Grandma and thought it would be more fun if he pulled the plug.  Steve towed Austin all around the lake and somehow tied themselves around the one bouy on the lake.
